Dr. Markus Pistauer
Entrepreneur

Dr. Markus Pistauer, born in Klagenfurt/Austria, holds a Master degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (1991) and a Ph.D. degree in Electronic and Control Engineering (1995), both from Graz University of Technology, Austria. From 1995 to 1999 he worked at Siemens AG (Semiconductor Division, now Infineon Technologies) and also as Professor at University of Applied Sciences, Carinthia. He has founded CISC Semiconductor GmbH in 1999, with its head office in Klagenfurt, Austria and R&D offices in Graz/Austria and Brno/Czech Republic, where he still acts as CEO. In 2012 he founded CISC Semiconductor Corp. in Mountain View, CA, USA, to enforce presense in US. In early 2016 he founded COYERO, Inc. in Palo Alto, CA, USA and in 2019 the European COYERO GmbH in Austria - a company offering a mobile technology that connects people to infrastructure and services to create regional digital marketplaces.

He gathered research experience within 70+ national and international collaborative research projects over the past 26 years and is author and co-author of more than 80 papers published and holds several patents (Europe and US) in the area of embedded microelectronic systems.

Markus Pistauer is IEEE member, member of the steering board of the INSIDE Industry Association (former ARTEMIS Industry Association) and since 2020 he is member of the HiPEAK industrial advisory board.

He has worked and works for the European Commission as a technical expert to evaluate project proposals, call schemes for upcoming funded R&D programmes and contributes to the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda in the section “Mobility”.
